今日は BBC Learning English のサイトで紹介されているものです。
Leopard can’t change it’s spots.
（ヒョウはヒョウ柄を変えられない）＝人は変わらない、本質は変わらない
という意味です。
そして、このサイトでは、
中国やスペインでは、この同じような表現をどういうか
という興味ある取り組みです。
韓国では ↓
So, a leopard can’t change its spots, well in Korean we have a similar phrase, we say -세살 버릇 여든까지 간다 and it basically means the habits of a three year old lasts until the age of 80 – and this basically means ‘a leopard can’t change its spots’.
だそうです。(^-^)
これ日本と似てますね。「三つ子の魂百まで」
でも、ちょっとこの Leopard の表現とはニュアンスが違うかも。。。ですね

BBC のサイトにある例では：
Examples:
I told Karen she had to study more if she wants to pass her exams but a leopard can’t change its spots – she won’t do it.
（試験に受かりたければ、もっと勉強せんとアカンよ！とカレンに言ったけど、、、変わらないわね、、、カレンは勉強しないわよ）
とか、
Freddie promised he wouldn’t get into trouble at school but I don’t believe him – a leopard can’t change its spots.
（フレディは学校で厄介なことに巻き込まれないようにするよ、と約束したけど、、、ヒョウはヒョウ柄を変えられないって言うよね）
とあります。
ちょっと違うでしょ、三つ子の魂とは。・ω・
「これがピッタリだぜ！」っていう日本語の表現あれば、教えてくださぁ〜い！

ちなみに、ヒョウってネコ科ですよね。ネコ好きな人にとっては（でなくても）
カワイイ！ッ ですよね。
